KNUST awards Outstanding Health Training Institutions and Students

Nursing Training Awards

  

As part of the 70th Anniversary of KNUST, the University with the College of Health Sciences has rewarded students and consistently performed health training institutions on the 28th January 2022 in a virtual ceremony.

Five outstanding students and training institutions running degree nursing, diploma nursing, community health nursing and midwifery programmes were presented with plaques and certificates in honour of their recognition.

Professor Victoria Bam the Head of Nursing Department, congratulated all the awardees stating that University recognizes hard work.

Community Health Nursing in Winneba, Nursing Training College in Ho, Nursing and Midwifery Training in Sunyani, Keta and 37 Military Hospital in Accra were rewarded for their outstanding academic performance and continuous collaboration with KNUST in training and education of midwives and nurses.

Mr Emmanuel Owusu Sekyere from SDA Nursing Training College, Kwadaso/Barekese emerged as the valedictorian with two other awards to his credit. In a valedictory speech, he attributed his success to hard work and perseverance.

  • Miss Kanyiri Gifty – Best Graduating Student in Midwifery, Diploma Terminal Programme (St. Joseph’s Midwifery Training College, Jirapa)
  • Miss Abigail Andoh – Best Graduating Student in Community Health Nursing, Diploma Upgrade Programme (Nursing Training College, Ho)
  • Mr Obed Ntow – Best Graduating Student in Community Health Nursing, Diploma Terminal Programme (Community Health Nursing Training College, Akim Oda)
  • Miss Abigail Twumwaa Brown - Best Graduating Student in General Nursing, Diploma Upgrade Programme (Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Sunyani)
