The Department of Nursing provides intensive theoretical and clinical teaching in General Nursing, Emergency Nursing and Midwifery, building on knowledge in the basic sciences. This prepares students to become professional nurses and midwives capable of effectively delivering nursing and midwifery care to their clients and significant others. The Department’s programmes also prepare the students to identify pertinent health problems in health institutions and communities and effectively design programmes that can address them. The teaching methods in place equip students to deliver health information to various groups in order to meet their particular needs. We arrange related clinical experiences for students within a number of health facilities and community centres.
